A book that I have had for a long time is the Owners Workshop Manual for The Honda 750 Four The Works first superbike that was not a works racer that a person could buy. Mine Was a 1972 K2 and I loved it. I never had occasion to use the book because I had the original Shop Manual. I think I just likes the quality of the illustrations. In the Introduction the author says: “The Honda Motor Company Limited has the uncanny knack of producing the right machine at the right time and establishing yet another trend for others to follow.” by Jeff Clew in Haynes Manual.     Duncan;

    I also bought a 72 K2 CB750. It was a wonderful machine, although I eventually decided the handling and brakes weren’t up to the standard I wanted. So I bought a Rickman frame from Thom Tyre and then an engine which I had to tear down to the max and rebuild. The original engine was so restricted for breathing freely that I did a nice port polish job to eliminate the casting flinges, put on a Yoshimura 4:1 pipe, K&N air filters and opened up the air box to allow about 3X the air in. Also an electronic ignition and improved the clutch. What a difference. Went from 105 main jets to 150 jets because it would burn so much more fuel. The torque and hp were significantly increased so that I had to rebuild the seat on the Rickman so I wouldn’t slide backwards so much.

    Loved that Rickman, which I eventually sold in the early 90’s to a fellow who wanted it for vintage road racing. Imagine my surprise when I moved to Blind Bay in 2012 and Mark at Dreamcycle bought the same bike which he is now going to rebuild. Small world, eh?

    Hope all is going well for you.
