My jobs and in technology my motorcycle racing career have given me the privilege of visiting most of the Canadian Provinces, the US States, England and Germany. I have stayed in many cookie cutter Hotels and some great ones. I have slept in vans, cars, boats and tents but a good hotel can make a quick visit a memorable one.

In Canada there are many hotels where there are Block heaters in the parking lot. When the departure is 40 degrees below zero if you do not keep your engine oil from congealing it makes your car or truck hard to start.
This is a quick look at some of the hotels that have stuck in my mind. From Windy Point Lodge in McLeod Lake in B.C., The Empress in Victoria to the Frontenac in Quebec City and the Royal York in Toronto here are some of my favorites.

The service I have received at the Canadian Pacific Hotels in Canada has always been excellent with the Frontenac in Quebec City with distinctive Nouvelle-French flair all of the staff seem to have and the multicultural ambiance of the staff at the Hotel Vancouver is wonderful.

Watching the waves crashing on to beach from your patio at Pacific Sands rivals having breakfast at Swan Court at the Hyatt Regency in Maui and being able to take high tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria is a must do.

Sooke Harbour House. Small intimate with incredible food this little gem is tucked away on Whiffin Spit on the Juan de Fuca Strait in Sooke B.C.
